Top 5 Cool Things to Amp Up Your Marketing
Question: What is the some of the coolest stuff out there?
Working with artists, I get to see cool things everyday that I had no idea even existed. Sometimes new tools are introduced to me by the least expected source … like my kids’ babysitter.
1: Gelaskins.com
This product makes your iPad super sleek and allows you to match up your branding elements as a whole packaged presentation, which is a very COOL thing. I recommend getting one to match your brand, as it’s great for showing new work, categorized work and motion, alongside your printed portfolio. And for those artists who just do not want to print a portfolio – this is the NEXT best thing. www.gelaskins.com

I might be behind the eight ball on this one, but I was literally just introduced to this site by my kids’ babysitter. It’s a cool site to find images based on your search, tag your favorites, and create your own boards. In a recent interview with a round table of art buyers, they all mentioned that they used this site for concepting and keeping track of GOOD talent. I think this would be a great place for photographers to create and source creative treatments or produce shoots. pinterest.com

Okay, this might not look that cool … but trust me, it is. If you aren’t using this tool with your clients, you should. I use this project management tool every day with all of my Campaign Manager Pro clients and I love it. When my computer crashed last month, Basecamp saved my life - all my notes were saved there, along with all of my files and my clients’ files. It’s a must have for a one-stop location for communication, file transfers and to-dos. basecamphq.com

Okay, we all know we love the Polaroid … but now with the iPhone apps that do everything we need … here’s the latest solution. How much fun would it be to have your client at the studio for your next shoot and everyone snapping shots and playing with the instagram, while the model is getting hair and make-up touched up? instaprint.me
5: help-portrait.com
It’s always cool to give back. Jeremy Cowart’s Help-Portrait inspires others to give back. On December 10, photographers around the world will be grabbing their cameras, finding people in need and taking their picture. When the prints are ready, the photographs get delivered for free out of the kindness of your heart. help-portrait.com
What is cool to me might not be cool to you, or is YESTERDAY’s news. So tell us what is cool … I WANT TO KNOW! ENJOY and HAVE FUN!
